In the first ever Scorched Archive post I welcome you to the site and give a brief run down of the hobby, the site and the future.

Welcome one and all to Scorched Archive, a Warhammer 40,000 blog created by me, Andy Pearson. I have been designing and developing this site for quite a while now and it is great to finally get it online and start writing. I hope that the site will soon become a great resource for Games Workshop hobbyists but first things first, some introductions.

The Hobby

Warhammer 40,000 is a table top war game which involves the hobbyist collecting, modeling, painting and finally fielding a vast army. Think this sounds fun? Games Workshop has a brilliant seven page guide to getting starting with Warhammer 40,000, check it out here.

The Site

I have recently decided to get back into the hobby after a several year break and felt that it would be really good fun to document my progression as I go from a handful of models to a full army, or two! It was a logical step as a web designer to put together this blog and start publishing Warhammer 40,000 related content.

The Future

I have got some big plans for this site over the coming months. I don’t want to reveal too much at this point but suffice to say it will be pretty exciting! I hope to get the first “real” post up soon which will eventually be followed by interviews, tutorials and tactica.
